Every kid leaves wearing a pair from the year’s drives. The right size, the right sport, theirs to keep.
A meal and a memory
Lunch, water, and a day where every kid is the one who got picked first. The goal is not to fix Kinshasa. The goal is one good day with a real gift.
Why Kinshasa
The place that made him.
Kinshasa is the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is one of the largest cities in Africa — more than fifteen million people, an enormous youth population, and a sports culture that runs deep.
It is also the city Tichyque was born in, lost his parents in, and made his way out of. He never let go of it. The kids he serves are the ones he grew up alongside, and the ones who came after.
The camp is small on purpose. Tichyque knows every kid’s name. The shoes don’t go to statistics; they go to faces.
The year’s shoes end up at the camp.
Every pair you drop off this year is on a kid’s feet by next summer.
