Why Kinshasa
Where his story starts.
Kinshasa is the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and one of the largest cities in Africa. It is where Tichyque was born.
He came to the United States at thirteen to play basketball, and he still goes back every summer. In summer 2027 he carries the year’s shoes back with him, to where his story, and Fifi’s, begins.
